Flat Waddles Project
Waddles really wants to see the world! You can help Waddles by creating your very own Flat Waddles Project. For those of you who are already familiar, this mimics the “Flat Stanley Project.” It’s fun and easy, just follow these instructions:
1. Create your Flat Waddles. You can do this by clicking on the “Projects” tab of the Waddles Blog and scroll to the Flat Waddles post. We have created a template so that all you have to do is print Waddles and color as you wish! After you have printed and colored your Flat Waddles, you will need to either laminate or paste your Waddles onto a piece of cardboard. Laminating will make your Flat Waddles last longer. Next cut out your Waddles. TA-DA! Waddles is ready to go traveling!
2. Mail your Flat Waddles along with written instructions stating what you would like people to do with your Flat Waddles. Feel free to suggest ideas and adventures for your Flat Waddles. For example, if you send your Flat Waddles to someone who lives near the ocean ask that person to take a picture with Waddles building a sandcastle on the beach! Remember to ask your friend to send you pictures so you can see what your Waddles was up to!
Here is an example of a Flat Waddles letter going to a friend in Hawaii:
Hi! My name is Flat Waddles! I belong to (your name here) and I really want to see the world. I came to you all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. I have never been to the beach before. Would you please take me? I want to show (your name) that I can build a sand castle and do the hula! Will you take pictures of me doing those things and send them to (your name here). I am so excited to be visiting you and can’t wait for our adventures to begin!
3. Once you receive photos of your Flat Waddles and his many adventures be sure to keep them in a journal so that you can remember all of the fun Waddles had!
